Bonsai

Bonsai, pronounced bone-sigh, literally means potted plant, or tree in a pot, miniature trees grown in containers, the ancient japanese art of growing miniature trees by constantly pruning their roots and branches, a bonsai tree may live to be hundreds of years old. Actually, they originated from China but the Japanese made them popular, especially in Western Culture.

Bonsai trees have been popular in offices in later years because of their small size, and their upkeep is quite minimal.

Apparently, a bonsai tree should not be positioned in the centre of its container, not just for the visual effect, but the centre point is symbolically where heaven and earth meet, and nothing should occupy this place.

They are not difficult to look after, in fact, no more than most other houseplants, just needing food, water and light.
